Dan Sherer
For Frequency Theatre: DIRECTOR
Dan Sherer is Artistic Director of Real Circumstance Theatre Company. With Real Circumstance he makes high-quality, innovative theatre through a unique creative process that blends long-term improvisation with authorship.
Dan is also a director, published playwright, teacher and academic in both the United Kingdom and the United States. He specialises in directing new work for the stage, teaching improvisatory directing and acting methods, and conducting anthropological research on cross-cultural theatre practice. Dan is a member of faculty at RADA, where he teaches MA Directing, Devising and Improvisation.
Most recently Dan has been working as a director at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, and has been visiting teaching artist at Butler Theatre in Indianapolis. Dan trained at the National Theatre Studio, where he was staff director to Mike Leigh; and at RADA.
