John Rosewarne

For Frequency Theatre: ACTOR

John Rosewarne’s only claim to theatrical fame is having worked for the Royal Ballet Company in 1976 when he inadvertently attended auditions for extras in Romeo and Juliet and Swan Lake: since arriving in Colchester in 1981 he has performed with a number of local companies and at a variety of venues including the University of Essex and Colchester Arts Centre. He was a prominent member of “The Rather Silly Company” and “Threshold Theatre” making appearances which included “Cloud Nine”, “A Light Shining in Buckinghamshire”, “Not With a Bang”, “But Dad I Want to be a Golfer” and Tony Harrison’s “Mysteries”. He has also appeared with The Colchester Theatre Group, The Lexden Players, Colchester Operatic Society, CO2 and Clacton Operatic Society. In 2007 he co-wrote and performed in “The Artchers-an everyday tale of art gallery folk”; performed and recorded at The Minories. John is a long standing member of the Mercury Adult Theatre Workshop and the Mercury Community Company; amongst others he appeared in proctions of “The Possibilities”, “Depot”, “Hell is Empty and the Devils are all here” and “Attempts on her Life”.
