Kenneth Emson

For Frequency Theatre: PLAYWRIGHT

Kenneth Emson is currently writing for EastEnders and Doctors as part of the BBC Writers Academy and is under commission to Eastern Angles, Nabokov Theatre, Supporting Wall and Pacifus Productions (for Radio 4).

He has worked extensively with the Old Vic on their 24 Hour Plays (as both Writer and Mentor) their Times Warner Ignite, their US/UK Exchange and was also their nominated writer for the BBC Writersroom 10 attachment which saw him be dually commissioned by them and the BBC.

Kenneth Emson has taken part in the Royal Court’s YWP, Invitation and Supergroup attachments and has also worked for them as a script reader and support tutor across their writing programmes. He is based in the Eastern Region and has had work produced at the Hotbed, High Tide, Pulse and Latitude Festivals. He has worked with Menagerie, Eastern Angles and the Mercury theatre, whilst also being nominated for the Pearson prize by High Tide for his play White. He was the 2010 Offwestend.com Adopt a Playwright winner, the 2012 Adrienne Benham winner and was shortlisted for the 2011 Bruntwood Prize.
