In the Shadow of the Bulldozer

Written by Deanna Walker

In the Shadow of the Bulldozer is a new play made as part of the Essex Book Festival’s Making Waves project.
Essex, 1975: the sound of bulldozers tearing down neighbours’ homes. The threat of Wilf and Nellie losing their home comes ever closer on the delivery of a letter which they can’t quite bear to open.

Directed by Graham Watts

Performed by Tim Freeman (Bob), Sian Notley (Nellie), David Tarkenter (Wilf) and Christine Absalom (Maud)

This play has been produced by Frequency Theatre in partnership with the Essex Book Festival as part of the ‘Making Waves’ project. We gratefully acknowledge the support of Essex County Council, the University of Essex, and Arts Council England.
