New Theatre In Your Neighbourhood

In the summer of 2013 Fuel Theatre commissioned the theatres which regularly host its shows to make a piece of documentary theatre about their local area. The Lakeside Theatre asked Frequency to record people in the local area, asking them where and what stood out about Colchester.

We asked our interviewees to focus of a particular ‘place’ in Colchester which was memorable or special to them, in whatever way. The result was a medley of ideas, memories, busting of stereo-types, confirming of stereo-types and some surprising snippets of information! We hope we have captured some of the essence of Colchester in this brief snapshot.
